RAK Sessions | Ghaliaa - 3abali -- عبالي - غالية

RAK Sessions’ third music video, ‘3abali’ by Ghaliaa, takes you back in time to the historic town of Al Jazirah Al Hamra, the last authentic town still standing in the UAE and one of the four sites in Ras Al Khaimah added to the UNESCO tentative world heritage list.

Once a small island, its inhabitants survived on maritime and pearl trading before they abandoned their houses in the middle of the 20th century, when the rush to modernization started. It is an undisturbed picture of life before the discovery of oil and is preserved until today.

كانت هذه المنطقة جزيرة صغيرة اعتمد سكانها في حياتهم على الصيد وتجارة اللؤلؤ قبل أن يغادروها في منتصف القرن العشرين مع موجة التطور والعمران الحديث فتركوا ورائهم صورة محفوظة عن نمط الحياة ما قبل اكتشاف النفط.
